Independent insurance education for everyday Americans. Here is who we are and why we built this.
Last updated: June 2026Insurance is one of the most important financial products most Americans buy, yet it is also one of the least understood. Policy language is deliberately complex. Pricing is opaque. Sales incentives are misaligned with consumer interests. And the people most in need of good insurance guidance, everyday working Americans making coverage decisions that will affect their families for decades, are the least likely to have access to unbiased, expert help.
InsureShedii exists to change that. We write independent insurance guides in plain English, backed by current data from authoritative sources, with no financial interest in which products you buy or which companies you choose. We do not sell insurance. We do not earn commissions on policies. We do not allow advertisers to influence our editorial content. We are writers and researchers who believe that clear, honest information is a public good, and that helping people make better insurance decisions has real, lasting impact on their financial lives.
No carrier relationships, no commissions, no sales incentives. Our only interest is helping you make the best decision for your situation.
Every claim we make is sourced. We cite BLS, KFF, LIMRA, Insurify, NOAA, and other authoritative sources. We update articles when data changes.
Insurance jargon exists to obscure. We translate it. If an eighth-grader cannot understand an explanation, we have not done our job.
Insurance markets change constantly. We track premium data, regulatory changes, and market shifts and update our guides accordingly.
We tell you the truth about products even when the truth is unflattering. We explain when whole life insurance is a poor choice and when it is appropriate.
Every guide ends with specific, practical next steps. Understanding insurance is only useful if it helps you take better action with your own coverage.
InsureShedii publishes in-depth guides across five core insurance categories that together cover the financial risks most Americans face throughout their lives:
Every article published on InsureShedii goes through a structured editorial process designed to ensure accuracy, clarity, and genuine usefulness. Research begins with primary sources: government data from BLS, NAIC, and state insurance commissioner databases; industry research from KFF, LIMRA, NOAA, and Insurify; and direct review of carrier policy language and underwriting guidelines. We do not base articles on press releases, marketing materials, or content provided by carriers.
Claims involving specific statistics are cited to their source. When data is contested or varies significantly between sources, we note the variation and explain the range rather than selecting the most convenient number. When market conditions change materially, we update articles to reflect current reality. We mark articles with the date of last substantive update so readers can assess how current the information is.
We do not accept payment for editorial coverage. We do not publish articles that function as promotional content for specific carriers or products, regardless of whether compensation is offered. Our affiliate arrangements, where they exist, are disclosed in accordance with FTC guidelines and do not influence which products we recommend or how we evaluate them.
Writers with backgrounds in personal finance journalism, insurance industry analysis, and consumer advocacy.
Researchers who track insurance market data, regulatory filings, and rate changes across all 50 states.
Independent reviewers who verify statistics, sources, and technical accuracy before publication.
InsureShedii is supported primarily through display advertising and, in some cases, affiliate partnerships with insurance comparison platforms. When a reader clicks a link from InsureShedii to an insurance comparison site and ultimately purchases a policy, we may receive compensation. This compensation never influences our editorial recommendations, our rankings, or our coverage decisions. We would rather recommend a product that does not pay us than recommend an inferior product that does.
All affiliate relationships are disclosed in accordance with FTC guidelines. If you have any questions about our compensation structure or how it does or does not affect our content, please contact us at [email protected].
